New beginnings!

Hey gang,

It's almost 2013!! Whoa. We lived through another apocalypse.  How do you feel about that? I'm pretty excited to head into the new year. Have you set your goals yet? Aim high!

For a fun little thing, I'm going to recap some of 2012 for y'all.
Jan: in Jamaica for Brittin & Brock's wedding on da beach mon!
Feb: My love for T-Pain exploded. And I enjoyed it.
March: my 21st birthday! Dominican Republic for break!
April: Nik's birthday! Also had a record-topping month with LS sales!
May: Nik and I celebrate 2 years together! Graduation!
June: Loving the summer sun!
July: Megan & Dan's wedding at the lake!
Aug: Natalie & Nick's wedding in DL! Family reunion.
Sept: My ongoing love for Tom Hardy was full bloom. It is still strong to this day.
Oct: "Harriet Tubman" at Jen's birthday celebration! Hilarious.
Nov: Last month at Bobcat, starting to get very chilly!
Dec: Got pulled over, and started my new job at Flint!

As some of you know, my first day at Flint was on Monday the 3rd of December. So I've been here about a month! I absolutely love it. I am doing a lot of work with great people. The company is a great fit for me, and I mesh right in! You may or may not be wondering what I spend my day doing!

I am helping manage our team of callers. We are conducting a handful of surveys with thousands of people around the country. This is because we are getting new market research to better our client's strategy! I am in charge of all the incentives, and I send out hundreds of Visa gift cards each day to those who have completed our survey. In addition to the call center, I am working with leads and assigning them to our CRM (customer relationship management) program. I am an avid meeting attendee, and I am always one of the first to claim the treats in the break room! :) I guess people like to send treat baskets to us! Especially around Christmas. That is good for me! I try to enjoy in moderation.

Some other things that I love about my job is the people! I work mostly with my boss, but I am also active with the entire team. Everyone around the office is so friendly and welcoming. That is all for now, I know I will be learning a bunch of new things in 2013. It will be so great!

Hope you all are doing great out there. Please continue to pray for me, and you are always in mine!
Warm wishes for 2013. Accept nothing but the best.

Always believe, the best is yet to come.

Welcome to the future. Speedometer malfunction.

Welcome to the future.
Everyday we open our eyes is a new adventure, an exciting time to start with a fresh plate. 2013 is right around the corner. I am all about making yourself better through goal-setting, planning and executing! What are you hoping to accomplish in the new year? Is it to save more money? Become healthier? Procrastinate less? Run a marathon?

I wish for everyone to write down what you wish to achieve as we come upon this beautiful new year.

Okay, something hilarious happened on Friday night last week. I was driving back from GF from Natalie's grad party and I was pulled over. By a cop. Bummer. If anyone knows me, I speed like I'm on a mission. And I usually am. So it makes sense. BUT- I was pulled over going 83 in a 75. If you know me, that's nothin'. I was SO angry that I was caught and I wasn't even speeding.

I am a very safe driver (if anyone's wondering). I pride myself on being able to get out of a ticket. Some of my best ones include tears, someone being in labor, and being late for an interview. Each of which were untrue. Sorry, world.  I tried the following on Friday: "I am 100% positive that my speedometer is broken, I have timed it out between mile markers and it shows me only going 79.5 when it shows me at 82.5. So just now when you stopped me, I was indeed not speeding. What exactly did your radar say?" He replied "83 mph, and your speedometer is not broken." DANG IT. HE ISN'T CHATTY. Luckily, I pulled out my license, and most recent car insurance info (thanks Dad) and got things rolling really quickly. I then got a 'citation' and owed some po-dunk county $40.  Sweet. There goes one less Christmas present to someone....!  No dings on my insurance, and only 1 point on my license.

Immediately after I pulled away, I called up Dad. His advice? "SLOW YOUR @$$ DOWN" hahaahaaa. Thanks, Dad. So helpful.

Anyways, the ticket will not hinder me from speeding. Sorry folks. I can't help it. I can't stand someone else passing me. I don't know why, I just have to be faster. But that's the extent of my competitiveness. Hah.

Hope you set your goals high and your cruise higher!! :)

Always believe, the best is yet to come.

A few of my favorite things...

HI!
Well. In light of the Christmas spirit and sweet, baby Jesus, I have listed a handful of people that I spend most of my time communicating with. I have entered them into an Excel file and used the "Randomize" function, so no one feels like they are more special than the other in order of the list.

If you are not on the list, it does not mean that I don't love you... it just means we need to spend more time together!!

Mom: Quick to hand out useful advice, and to make me feel really good about myself.
Brittin: Caring, and eccentric, never misses a beat.
Nik: Makes me feel safe, is appreciative and crazy supportive.
Emily: Accented, cultured and awesome.
Jenessa: Beautiful, always laughs at my jokes, and who I look up to.

Gramma Carol: Fun-loving, thoughtful and generous.
Natalie: Instant take off from where we last left, constant connection.
Colton: Strong, silent, and faithful.
Megan: Never fearful, strong-willed and eternally trendy.
Sophie: Driven, passionate and quick-witted.
Dad: Excellent listener, and knows all the answers. To everything... Ever.
Terri: Great mentor and always a friend.

There you have it, folks. Soak that up as much as you'd like.  Here are some more of my favorite things...

My favorite fruit: pineapple
Amendment:eighth
Writing utensil: black pen
Veggie: baby carrots
Technology: Evernote
Toenail polish color: Maroon or bright orange
Saint: St. Anthony, he helps me find things
Dream vehicle: Big ole' gas guzzler
Exclamation: "Barnacles!" or "Ya ding-dong"
Celeb crush: Tom Hardy (yumm)

Feel free to Google any of those answers for more clarification. Or you can comment/email/text me with any questions that you may have.

Always believe, the best is yet to come.

PS: Sorry to anyone who has finals this week! God bless! :D

Busy Bee!

Hey gang. Hope you are doing great! :)

Yesterday, I was so grateful to celebrate my last day at Bobcat Company. It sure was a great time!
So many kind people who work there wished me well in my future. I know I will see all of them again!
In case you're wondering... I have accepted a position at Flint Communications. It's a wonderful company, I start my exciting adventure on Monday!

Lately, I have been super busy. As you can see by my title, "Busy Bee," I haven't had time for a while to blog! Sad faces. BUT, I am here to prove I can prioritize and manage my time effectively.

William Penn once said "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst." But I don't want to simply spend time, I want to construct something out of it, and use it! No matter how old, young or  how sick or healthy you are we all get the same amount of time in a day. Each day is like a suitcase, some choose to stuff it with a bunch of Hawaiian flavored shirts, while others pack a pair of socks. What does that even mean? I'm not sure. But some people don't need more than one shirt in a day. Balance is key. Isn't it what we all aspire to? Ideal amount of time spent in your professional life, your family, social life and also your personal health, how much for each? Do you have enough time in this life to get it right? I believe that balance fluctuates with stages we go through. What is yours? What do you spend a majority of your time on? Time = love. If you spend most time at your job, you better love what you do. Because you are literally trading your life for it.

Now I'm not saying to quit your job and live on the beach (which is the ideal life for me) but figure out what makes you tick.

Nik and I saw Rise of the Guardians 3D last night. I mean, wow what a great movie! You should watch it, even if you are 100 years old. So much can be learned. I don't think Nik and I enjoyed a movie that much in a many moons.

Hope your weekend is filled with joy and love.
Take a moment to say thank you to yourself, for being so gosh-darn amazing. I mean, come on, there's only one of you in the entire world. Give yourself a foot rub.

Always believe, the best is yet to come.

Legacy of sweets.

Hi. Have you ever thought where you came from? Not like your Momma's belly... but like, your grandparents/great grandparents?
What neat people. I stopped by for a visit with my Dad's parents yesterday evening. What an enriching experience.

They know everything. I mean, they practically read my mind. It was awesome. We talked about the evolution of dishes and dishwashers. Interest rates, babies and bills.

I learned that although our physical bodies fail us over time, our minds and spirits stay sharp and alive! Seriously, my McAllister grandparents should win an award for creating such a successful, beautiful and healthy family! They are the reason for SO many people! If they hadn't met each other and decided to start a family, then I wouldn't be here. Along with my Dad, cousins, second cousins... and so on.

I re-realized where Dad's love of sweets (and mine) come from, from Gramma's cooking and Grampa's sweet tooth! Seriously, he ate a ton of delicious food over the years! It's hard to say no to Gramma jelly and lefse.

In light of Thanksgiving coming up, what do you enjoy most about your family? I would have to say that I am MOST grateful of my family's ability to laugh. No matter what, I always am guaranteed a good giggle at any gathering. No wonder people think I'm strange, I think everything is funny. Anyone who says that should meet my parents. Seriously, I love seeing my parents and siblings. Thankfully, my best friend and sister is only a few short minutes away from me. Not to mention, my brother's sporting activities means my parents aren't far either! :) I am grateful to have family around the area, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents are always close by.

It breaks my heart to hear about those who don't have family, or who don't see their family. Family is God's greatest blessing. So this weekend, thank your family for being awesome. Say a little prayer and give thanks.

Always believe, the best is yet to come.

Top 3 Accidents

Hello cold, cold, icy world.  :)

Scarves are really great. But that's not my main focus for today's post. I am going to discuss my top 3 car accidents that have happened to me around this time of year...

1. Speed/gravel/flip/roll/slew
The time was early fall. 2007. I was a sophomore. Time was in the late afternoon. I decided to jack the Dazzler-mobile, which was Jenessa's prized silver-plated Oldsmobile from the wonderful year of '86. My main goal was to drive to the parish center to do some Great American fundraising. It happened in slow-motion. I was driving (very quickly) along the skiddish gravel road from home into town. I started losing control. I honestly don't remember how fast I was going! It was right by the "Dead End" sign by the two surrounding slews (if you know the area by the house). I started fishtailing... and like an unexperienced, lady driver... I over-corrected and hit the bump on the four-corners sideways. I then launched into the air and did a flip or two. All I can remember is my hair swarming all up in my face, Jenessa's latest Diet Coke spilling into my lap (at least I hope it was DC), and looking out the windows as the world spun. I sang in my head "Jesus, Take the Wheel." The car landed on its side, with me nearest to the ground, and by the swift kick of God's food, pushed me back on the wheels and I was upright. The total event was probably only 4 seconds of my short, sweet life. But it seemed like an eternity. I then called up my Momma and was like "I just got in an accident." she replied "You literally just left the house." Haha! She and Dad then came to the rescue and pulled me from the slew-ish area. We determined that the Dazzler-mobile was no longer able to drive, so Jenessa got a new car (shocker, favorite child advantages). Luckily, I was buckled up and was not killed.
Lessons to take from this story: wear your seat belt, don't over correct, drive someone else's car if you plan on getting in an accident. Hah.

2. Rape van + curvy road = possibly totaled Impala.
So you remember in the last story, when I totaled Jenessa's old car? Well this story is about her new-ish car. The scene is... yesterday morning... cold, VERY icy, and sweet. Jenessa, Nik and I were on our way back from church, to my place. We were discussing the hilarious parts in Bruno and Borat. Quite a humorous conversation, as you can imagine. I then spotted a dark brown/caramel rape van swerving in front of us. Just the two vehicles on the road. Our moods drastically changed from laughing and giggling, into "ohh shizzzzle that van!"  Jenessa decided to speed up, to avoid getting smashed on the front of the car (which was pretty smart), and saw the van do a 180 degree slide and smasssh into the side of Jen's car. Luckily, the curb was there to stop us from launching into the light pole that was nearby. The humorous part was when I continued watching the van as it hit us and then slid perfectly into the side of the road as if it were parking. End of story. Impala might be damaged a tish. Perhaps, totalled.
Lessons to take from this story: always have great car conversation, don't cause more problems trying to avoid an accident than actually being in the accident, and slow down on the icy roads.

3. Stop sign from the fiery depths.
This story also involves Jenessa (shocker). It was also in the Dazzlermobile... earlier than the first story, obviously. I believe it was in the deepest part of winter in 2006. We were on our way to somewhere... maybe dance practice? Anyways, we were travelling on a road that was well plowed. During our usual jam-sessions, we realized that we lost control. But somehow we were still going strait. But then slowly... we were approaching a stop-sign. The stop sign was on my side of the road, like usual. But I seriously thought I was going to die because of this sign. It was coming right at me, without mercy. We kept sliding towards it and then ska-doosh. It sliced the living day-lights out of the passenger mirror. Thank goodness it wasn't my face. If I remember correctly, I was still screeching minutes after we had come to a complete stop.
Lessons to take from this story: as Wendy would say "NO jamming, girls", pump your breaks in case of emergencies, and make memories.

Bonus (non-winter story): during the summer sometime in the back roads, Jenessa and I found this lovely dog on the side of the road. We decided to pull over and check its collar. I got out and was super pumped to be a "helpful Harriet." I then got closer to the dog, tried to pet it. Then I noticed the white foamy-ness around its mouth. It then tried to snip my hand off with the large white teeth. Wow. I don't believe I have ever moved so quickly. I tried kicking it while doing a crazy dance to distract it from my meaty and delicious-looking body. In the mean time, Jenessa is safely in the car, laughing her face off at me. I am trying to escape the evil dog's range of attack. Running for the car, stumbling to reach the door. Haha. We lived to see another day.

Never saw the dog again.

He's electric... don't you forget it.

Good day, people.

I started thinking... I haven't been in an airplane in a long time! What's up with that?! I need to change that. If anyone has suggestions, please comment. Thanks!

I won a couple silent auction items last week at work. It was awesome.

This weekend went by too quickly!

Ads on Spotify are really annoying, maybe I'll have to upgrade! But that's what they want me to think... perhaps I won't give into their clever marketing schemes. Heeheehee.

Work was really great today. I got a TON of stuff done! Yay! Productivity!

The thought of wall paper is really strange. Who thought of that? Like a giant scrapbook. Minus the cool creativity.

I wish everything were wireless.

You know what's too bad? Sandy. She seems to be causing a lot of problems these days... hopefully she apologizes soon. I am grateful to live where I do in the geographical sense of the earth.

Why don't most men wear makeup? Why don't they wear high heels or dresses? Have you ever thought of that? What about the fact that women make $0.74 to every $1.00 a equally qualified man makes?

I have started to meditate on a daily basis. Nik is very interested in this and he also wrote a very persuasive paper for class about it! So I'm going to give it a go! It is proven to have very powerful results on the health and wellness of people. I would like to be healthy and well.  :) He's electric... don't you forget it.

Happy Tuesday!
Always believe, the best is yet to come.

My lingo. Prepare yourself.

This post is based solely on my own language, and how I perceive things, and how they people should spell them. *Some people have been exposed to this already through various types of communication.

When I feel good, I sing.

Hello everyone,

Well, to be honest, I haven't been feeling very healthy lately. Cough, cough, sniffle, sneeze.

But regardless of my physical state, I am full of life.

When I feel good, I sing!

Here are a few of my thoughts today:
1. Teeth are just outside bones.
2. There is always a reason for something happening, whether it be good or bad.
3. Sympathize, because you never know.
4. Everyone is interconnected to the universe
5. Female lions do 90% of the hunting. Boom. You go girls.
6. Dreams are SO unpredictable.
7. Is it too early to shop for Christmas? 67 days away. Nope.
8. Your face is truly wonderful.
9. Fireflies are the greatest. They don't carry diseases and don't have any stingers/pinchers/biters.
10. I need to buy a case for my Kindle.
11. Anything worth while is usually not easy.
12. It's fine by me.... if you never leave. (My favorite tune right now)

That's what's up, yo.

Do you set goals? Maybe it's time you start and evaluate. Time=love. What you spend your time on is what you truly love and value. Is it facebook? Reading? Texting? Blogging? Laughing with others? Drinking wine? What you do is what you are.

Love deeply and drink more water.
Always believe, the best is yet to come.

Doodads, surroundings, and word mix-ups,

Life is so funny.

Ever think about all the funny things that happen during one day? Or are you too "plugged in" to notice them?

Take a minute to think about the silly things that surround you every day!

Opportunity is also another thing that is constantly around us and is always changing. Whenever you come in contact with anything, that is an opportunity. You choose the outcome, whether it's with an object or a person, you choose how you act/react. Do you ever wonder what life might be like if you chose another profession? Or another city to live in? Where might you be?

The inventors of pens really needs to get a big 'ole hug! I seriously do not like pencils, so sketchy... you can never depend on them fully! But pens, oh yeah, pens... they get the job done! In so many different colors and thickness. Such a great joy I have when using a powerful pen. It really determines how awesome I write. One day I will have so many pens that I will designate each to separate tasks! Like one for writing checks (although I'm quite certain that will be long gone by the time I have special pens), making name tags, signing important legal documents, to-do list (one color for each activity/day?), work pens.... and so on. Doesn't that sound glorious?

Some of my professional workplace passions include:
- a good task-list, one with priority settings
- a planner/schedule with enough room to write daily activities and goals
- solid looking excel spreadsheet for all my graphs and charts
- reminders around my dual-screen computer monitors
- dual screen computer monitors :)

Kleenex, what a simple idea. Post-it notes, what a simple idea. Chip clips, also simple... yet mind-blowingly useful for more than one use. Music, so complex and so meaningful, so many layers.... Motors in clocks, so precise. Human brains, so diligent and deep. Carrots, great discovery. Couches, nice work humans. Why aren't "coffee tables" called "feet tables" ??? Isn't that what they are mostly used for anyways? I feel it's an unfair naming system. Here are some other inaccurate labeling I feel need to be put to justice:
- Park. NO, you do not park yourself there... you play. So it should be called a play.
- Erasable pens. NO, an erasable pen = pencil. A real pen is final.
- Globe. NO, it's not the whole globe, so it should be called mini-world replication.
- Raindrops. Nope... should be called falling water.
- Mouse. Actually, it is NOT a mouse, but a hand-controlled device to determine the outcome of your computer's actions. So perhaps "director" or "influencer" or maybe "hand extension."

That is all for my brain blasts. This is what I think about. Shocked? Probs not.

Hoping you had a fantastic day. I sure did. :)

Always believe, the best is yet to come.

Days, dogs, food.

Howdy, friends.

Well. Today marks us 96 days away from Christmas. Isn't that crazy? Where does the time go? I swear, sometimes it just flies out from under us. Every week I'm like "gosh, it's already Thursday?!"

Last night was an awesome experience. If some of you didn't know I was at a fundraiser for a dog shelter in the area. I am donating all profits to the organization. If you'd like to donate to 4Luv of Dog order online at www.liasophia.com/taylormcallister and type in "4Luv of Dog" as the hostess name and all purchases will go towards the party.  It was great way for meet new people and make new friends! I found myself chatting a lot (shocker) and getting to know the neat folks who donate their time to this great place.

Food for thought, quite literally, but isn't it strange how we eat things from everywhere? Seriously, the people who realized we could/couldn't eat things was probably just crazy adventurous. Do you think they designated a group or committee to taste the things? Why would anyone think to eat things that are buried? Like potatoes? Weird-ohs. That also makes me think of if we missed anything! What if we are missing out on an awesome food source, but we just don't know it yet? (It is very difficult to think of an awesome example of this...) But for real. Eggs? Milk?  Who was the sicko who tried a cow's milk for the first time? What were they expecting? I bet they were just trying to learn from the baby cows (often called calves).

I really wish it were socially acceptable to be barefoot 24/7. I feel as though I'm forced to wear shoes 4.1% of the time. Realistically, I don't wear shoes at work (under my desk, is that strange?) and I don't wear shoes at home. But I do have to wear them to and from work, and for errand running. I guess I can handle the small 4.1%.

There are some really exciting people out there. Some of them are so near to us, we might walk by them all the time. But do we take the time to really get to know them? This is what I think the saying "the best things in life are free." Relationships. Conversations. Prayers. Laughs.

You are truly a blessing.
Always believe, the best is yet to come.

Your Power

Helloh!

I hope you had an incredible weekend.
I sure did.
I was in the cities for a training session with my fellow jewelry lovers.
Wow. What a powerful event.
Here are some really great things that I picked up:
-You are in compete control of the way your life is going. No one else can determine your mood or your attitude. You are the only one. The sooner you harness that concept, the sooner you will be in control of your outcomes.
-Every want or desire in your life needs to derive from a thought. If you can think it, then you can literally do it. First you commit yourself to a vision, then you educate yourself on that (see others around you who are accomplishing what you want, research their patterns), make a solid and achievable plan, and then execute it to your greatest abilities. No one can hold you back!
-People just want to be listened to. Most people mistake listening for love. If you really care about someone, shut your mouth. God gave us two ears and only one mouth, this is because He wants you to listen twice as often as you speak.
-If you are unhappy with how your life is balanced, identify what needs to be changed. Set your mind to a healthier and happier you, and go get it!
-No matter if you flip burgers or are a CEO, no one can tell you it's wrong. As long as you live and believe it, who cares what others think about you. People will always judge you. The tricky part is to learn to disconnect from that negativity and then you will truly not care what others think.
-God comes in different forms to people. As long as you are reaching to create a better relationship with Him, no one can tell you that you're wrong.
-24 million people in America are unemployed. Why is that? We, as Americans, believe that we should get everything, the best of everything. We are "entitled" to it. The commendable folks are those who really want something in life, tackle it for themselves and do the hard work to get there.
-Every single human being is unique and special in their own way. Our duty is to identify with our blessings and help cultivate them to make us who we are supposed to be. This is when we will feel truly satisfied.
-Remember, it takes an internal shift to make an external shift. If nothing changes, then nothing will change.

And the final things I'd like to share with you:
-It is very stressful to drive in the cities. It requires a great deal of patience.
-Ikea is a true gift from above.

Praise God because we are blessed.
Always remember, the best is yet to come.

Hair products.

People! What an amazing thing. How do employees of companies think of names for their products? I mean really... some of them are pretty ridiculous. To further prove my point, I will now list off some of my hair products on my bathroom shelf.

-Curl Goddess (curling liquid)
-PM: Super Skinny Serum (smoothing serum)
-Rockaholic: Fun Times (hairspray)
-Superstar (big volume serum)
-Lusterizer (shiny hair stuff)
-PM: Taming Spray (de-tangling)
-Big Sexy Hair: Root Pump (root pump)
-Fat-Tastic (mousse)

*PM=Paul Mitchell

So.... is it just me or do these people really go overboard sometimes? I wonder if sometimes they just use the synonym tool on Word and type in "awesome stuff" and come up with these?!

In light of my recent, and truly amazing findings I will now name my own line of hair products:

-Start Strong, Finish Strong (all day hairspray)
-Wild Beast (shiner)
-Blast! Maximum Exposure (high volume hairspray)
-Sugar Sweet, Tasty Treat (smoothing serum)
-Ouch! Injection (root pump)
-Breathtaking Volume (mousse)
-Standing Ovation (strong-hold wax)
-Totes Magotes ToGo (travel size hairspray)
-Druggie-Doo Moistener (conditioner)
-Grunge Glamorous De-Greaser (dry shampoo)

Well folks, what do ya think? I'm pretty sure I'm meant to be a billionaire entrepreneur. Why not?!

Awesome YOU List

Hey, you look great today. Have you lost weight? It sure looks like you did. You are a person worth knowing.

On that note, of positive self-thoughts, I would like you to do yourself a favor.... Grab a slice of paper and your favorite writing utensil. You might be great at giving advice to your friends and loved ones, but how often do you give yourself a compliment or an honest opinion? Right now, with that slice of parchment, write down why you are the amazing and dynamic person you are. You are your biggest fan, show some love! This list needs to be compiled of your favorite things... personality traits (hilarious, easy-going) also add in physical traits (bulging biceps, juicy lips...such on), and relationships that are going well (God, family, friends...). You may also add on to the list anything else that your glowing heart desires.

When you are confident, you portray a positive aura that is totally contagious! This really helps with meeting new people, and making awesome first impressions. It makes people want to get to know you....or at least wonder about you! Are you someone you'd like to be around all day?

Do you ever wonder about what life would be like had you made one, tiny different choice? What if you chose to go right instead of left? Would you be here today? Life is a sequence of decisions, what you eat, what you post, who you chat with... Food for thought on this wonderful day.

You are blessed, no matter what you think.

Internet, Early Birds and Mr. Franklin

Hi everyone. How are you feeling today? Scale of 1-10, 1 being brain dead, 10 being so alert you could perform a 12 hour surgery....what are you? I'd say I'm at like a 7-8, no surgery, but I could probs solve a complex problem.

Have you ever thought of what life would be like if we didn't have the internet? I mean, seriously... can you? Without that, we pretty much wouldn't have iPhones, Kindle Fires, emails, computers, constant weather updates, and instant celeb gossip!! How much more simple would our daily lives be?

Here is a list of some of my top peeves for today:
  • Unsafe driving
  • Rudeness
  • Warm cucumbers
  • End of toilet paper rolls
  • Unorganized maps

SO excited for this weekend. I love holidays! :)

I learned an interesting factoid today: early birds are more productive throughout the day, are more creative in the early hours and all around are less stressed!

Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise. - Benjamin Franklin

We all know that Ben Franklin spits the truth.

So.... I suggest instead of watching another episode or reading another chapter, you hit the hay and wake up early tomorrow.

Long, lost pals.

Oh! Hello, I didn't see you there.
Gosh, it's been a long time since I've last visited. How are you old, blogger, friend?

Well. This post will be about why I choose to blog. This is a deep question that dates back to the 12th century. But not really. I think blogging is a really fun way to take a new perspective on life. I now find myself looking at things and thinking "hmm... good post idea?" This is a very wonderful thing. I often think about how I would word things in my daily life. Like my inner dialect, what the dishwasher is thinking... and so on.

These are all normal thoughts, right?

You know what else is right? Getting paid to have fun. Gosh. Sometimes I just start thinking about my jewelry business and I get pretty pumped. What the heck? Seriously, I'm having so much fun, and making such easy money. (The jewelry isn't bad either...)

Who else thinks the "Location Settings" are a little creepy? GPS? Helpful tool or invasion of privacy? I do understand that you must "opt-in" to these settings, but sometimes you are automatically being tracked.

Interesting days, we live in.

Why was the keyboard invented in such a random order? QWERTY? What a genius. Things like these keep me on my toes.

That's for sure.
Love y'all.
Have a great Monday (it's my favorite day of the week!)
Always believe, the best is yet to come.

PS: There is only 120 days left until Christmas. Isn't that glorious?!

Wednesday, August 15

Ever wonder what would make your life easier? Less cleaning? Less work? More money? More fun? Less stress?

This is a funny link:
http://make-everything-ok.com/
It made me think of those questions above.

Well. Anyways. Can't wait. Life is too exciting! I am having a Fargs gathering tomorrow evening. Me and my ladies will be tearing it up! It is a potluck (which I'm especially excited about) and we will be hanging out and discussing the new lia sophia fall line of jewelry! Hopefully everyone has fun!! It begins at 6.33pm. So if anyone wants to come, just gimme a holla. There will be a ton of prizes.

Nik and I watched a YouTube video tonight, it was one where a guy does the girl's makeup. I feel like that would be a real tasty treat for those who read my blog. So if you think that's a good idea, maybe you should let me know. :)

This is just an observation over the past few decades of my life: because it's summer, people seem to be happier, waitresses, cashiers, friends, coworkers, and so on. When it gets windy, stinky and cold out, people tend to get crankier with the decrease in temp. BUT, I also came to the realization: it's called "attitude weather." This "attitude weather" is solely your choice. You choose your own "weather" from day to day. Either it's 90 and sunny or -50 and blowing, but what kind of weather do you portray?

On a lighter note: who discovered bubbles?! Because who ever figured it out was probably pumped out of their minds for like....their entire life.

Always believe, the best is yet to come.
Much love, lovers.

Alternate You and Movie Review.

Canon G12 10MP Digital Camera - Cameras & Accessories (Google Affiliate Ad)Hi.
Do you ever wonder if there is another you somewhere? Like across the world, speaking a different language, living in a different life? Perhaps we made opposite decisions in this lifetime. Maybe we are the different, but still the same? I mean really.... could God have that huge of an imagination where He can make up billions of unique people? I'm going to go with yes... but, I do know that he did some repeating after a few billion were produced. The neat thing about this is that we are able to be in complete control of our days. We can either choose to wake up on time in the morning, and whether to dress up or look like a slob. Do you decide to be polite? People who complain about the world, choose to suffer in their own lame-ness. People---Yeah, it does suck. Get over it. Every moment is literally a blessing. Some just choose not to see it fully.

Back to my alternate person.... could it be true? Will we ever know? Or is this what some call soul mates, or a brother from another mother? Did you know that if you own more than 1 pair of shoes, you are among the wealthiest 5% of the whole world? Life could get a lot worse for you. Maybe our opposite person is one of the poorest people living on pennies a day. Which brings me to my next thought... we should pray for those less fortunate than us.

Those last 2 paragraphs were mind-blowing.

Nikolaus and I saw Total Recall tonight, it was a fantastic date night! :) He's the best. But that movie was totally a dude-flick. 95% punching/shooting/running from bad guys, 3% two hot chicks with tight pants fighting for his affection, 1% beard-scruff and 1% Asian people screaming.

Top 5

Hello kind world,
It is Sunday, August 5th, 2012. (If ya didn't know).

Here are the top 5 things I have been wondering about:
1. Why do people always carve "HI" into things? Is that truly the most wise things to share? OR is it just easiest to carve/read?
2. Where did the summer go? I'm starting to believe that time goes by quicker the older I get. NOT saying I'm old.
3. Why are we still relying on gas for our vehicles? Can't we invent something cleaner, cheaper and more widely available? Like salt water?
4. My weekend was fabulous! :) I got to share my best gal pal's wedding at home. I was a bridesmaid! So fun! I also hung out with my family and played a hilarious game of "Things" with Nik, Jenessa, Holly, Momma and Daddy-oh. I'm in love with this weekend.
5. Why would anyone waste their lives (or even a minute) on thinking negatively about a situation that cannot be changed? It's like the silliest thing. You could be producing something wonderful, like a doodle, or a master plan that could make you millions of dollars. Just sayin'.

In order for you to stay happy in today's moments.... Write down (or at least think of) the top 5 things that you are grateful for. This exercise is to keep you in check of your life and to realize how beautiful you are.

Sorry that was a tish goopy for today's post. :)
Deep down, I know everyone liked it.

Sleeping Beauty?

Why am I still awake?
I feel like sometimes I'm really, really tired during the afternoon/early evening...but when it comes time for bed, I'm not tired! Weird, huh?

Anyways, I'm just marveling over the concept of sleeping. Does it really promote beauty? Does my skin, hair, and nails protrude with glowing features that people classify as beautiful?! I'm not fully convinced. Also, what the heck is up with sleep anyway? I am literally unconscious, unresponsive, and completely vulnerable! I have heard it said that "sleep is the cousin of death." Well then what the heck?! I don't want to sleep at all!! But yet, it is healthy for us? Confused face.

Is there such a thing as too much sleep? Is that a disease? Perhaps, kleptomania? Wait, no. Narcolepsy! What a strange disease. Also hilarious. God must have a sense of humor.

I like to do a pep-talk every morning when I'm getting ready (aka slabbing some paint on the ole' canvas), it goes a little something like this: "WOW! You look great! Do you workout?! High five!! (then I clap my hands in the air) CHEESE (checking my teeth after a thorough brushing), boom badda bannng ... <insert horrid rap about my hair/outfit choice>....ka-POW!"  And then I touch my toes, do some last minute leg-lunges and head out the door.

That is totally normal, right?
Goodnight world. Tell yourself you look great today. I mean really great. :)

*True beauty comes from within.

Kettle Corn

Hi.
I love kettle corn. I recently ran out of regular buttered microwavable popcorn. So I was at Hornbacher's looking at other options. I fell upon this wonderful, magical gift of kettle-y goodness. I got home and quickly ripped off the clear packaging and threw it in the microwave. The sweet smell of preserved kernels of corn doused in kettle. Wait, why do they call it kettle corn? Is this what a kettle tastes like? Not sure. Anyways, the bags are 100 calories each, naturally, they are mini bags. I ended up eating four bags in my first sitting. Haha. Classic Taylor move.

The following events occurred to me this weekend:
1. I became part human and part fish. (From being in the water so much!)
2. Watched the new Batman movie and was enjoying an emotional roller coaster plot to the movie. SO GOOD.
3. I should not be allowed to look after plants. I kill them. Unfortunately.
4. I turn into the weirdest creature when I'm alone at home. Singing, dancing, acting, river clogging, imaginary beings, and even cartwheels.
5. Never write a long blog, because people will stop reading.

That is all. Thanks! :)
How's your Monday?

Shoes.

I bet when you read the title of "Shoes." you were like, great...Taylor's talking about physical, actual, and awesome shoes. But the truth is, I'm not discussing those. I'm discussing life in my shoes. So... sorry to disappoint (or excite) but here it goes.

Last night my car practically exploded on me. For real. Temp went through the roof 300+ degrees in the engine. I pulled over immediately and Nik got out of the car and looked around under the hood. Let's get real- he's no grease monkey, so this was entertaining. He gave a valiant effort, poking things and looking around with a flashlight... no such findings.  Luckily, my father, Rick, is a high-class man who can fix anything, anywhere through any mode of communication. So I gave him a quick call.
"Perhaps it is the antifreeze level that is low."  Me-NOPE
"Perhaps your engine cooling fan is out of order." Me-NOPE
"Perhaps you broke it." Me-YEP, shocker.
On with the story- the temp dropped about 15 minutooes later, and I was off. Parked in the garage. Walked into my apartment......This morning- my car is completely norman. Norman!! (Taylor's translation: norman=normal) I was upset, but slightly excited it didn't randomly combust and burst into flames while I was getting a typical 8+ hours of slumber-ucation.

As of right now: I am sitting at my desk at the Bobcat Company. Marketing the day away. Actually, I'm lunch-breaking while blogging. Forgive me world, please.

What have you done to make your self a better person today? Here are some of my faves to get the positivity rolling:
-give someone a genuine compliment.
-when someone asks you how you are answer: "Fantastically! What a beautiful day. How is your day going?"
-replace the negative people in your space with plants.

This is all for my first blog on google.

Loving life!
You should too!
Wishing you all the happiness you can wish for,
Taylor
